Academic Support Associate - Humanities/Fine Arts/Business Division (Part-Time)

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Serve as an initial point of contact for faculty, staff, students, and visitors for the Fine Arts, Humanities, and Business departments, providing general information and directing inquiries as appropriate.
  • Provide general clerical and administrative support to assigned academic departments.
  • Schedule appointments, meetings, and departmental activities as directed.
  • Assist with the preparation and maintenance of course schedules each semester.
  • Prepare, type, and format correspondence, reports, meeting agendas, minutes, and other departmental documents.
  • Maintain departmental files and records, including filing, retrieving, purging, archiving, and transferring records in accordance with established procedures.
  • Maintain confidentiality and security of departmental records, documents, and information.
  • Enter and process departmental information in Banner and other College systems, including requisitions, travel documentation, and other routine transactions.
  • Answer and direct telephone calls and provide copying, scanning, and other general office support.
  • Retrieve, sort, and distribute departmental mail and other materials.
  • Monitor make-up examinations in accordance with departmental procedures.
  • Maintain departmental media equipment and inventory records and assist with the checkout and return of equipment.
  • Submit maintenance and information technology work orders and communicate routine departmental service needs to the appropriate College personnel.
  • Assist with departmental meetings, activities, special events, and other functions as assigned.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

  • Minimum of a High School Diploma or GED, required.
  • One year of receptionist/clerical experience, required.

Hourly Rate: $8.50 - $20.00 depending on education. (19 hours or less per week with NO BENEFITS)
