Senior Account Executive - Complex Risk

Essential job responsibilities include but are not limited to:

  • Consistently exemplifies and champions IMA’s core values in all client, carrier and internal interactions

  • Manages a book of business that is $2M+ in revenue
    • 50% + book of business focused on large/complex accounts
    • Cultivates trusted, long-term strategic partnerships with assigned clients
    • Leads and oversees all aspects of the renewal process (policy review, setting the game plan, loss analysis, program design, data completeness within AMS, coverage issues, etc.), ensuring strategic alignment, accuracy and exceptional client outcomes
    • Develops comprehensive marketing strategies, develops quality submissions, and leads negotiations with carrier partners to optimize client outcomes
    • Demonstrates advanced technical expertise and coverage knowledge that inspires confidence among clients, producers, and carrier partners.
    • Maintains intimate knowledge of clients' business operations, strategies, and needs throughout the year
    • Identifies with client’s priorities then creates a vision for their insurance program with alignment to their risk management goals, and understands client’s business philosophy
    • Prepares for and leads meetings with key IMA stakeholders and clients
    • Ability to design, coordinate and facilitate placement of large, complex international programs in collaboration with our International team resources
  • Supports in winning new business and set up of new accounts. At least 10% + of time is spent supporting producers in winning new business.
  • Pursues mastery of the craft through on-going education and awareness of industry trends, products, and services
  • Collaborates across specialty practices and internal resources to deliver top-of-class services to our complex clients – i.e. Claims, Risk Control, Executive Risk/Cyber, Risk Finance, International, Complex Property, etc.
  • Builds and maintains carrier relationships that enhance market access and client outcomes
  • Provides mentorship, coaching, and technical guidance to Level 2 Account Executives
  • Serves as a resource and mentor for Account Managers and team members, fostering professional growth and service excellence.

Required Experience and Skills include but are not limited to:

  • At least 10 years of experience in insurance or related industry based on the assigned book of business
  • Demonstrated ability to develop strategic risk management solutions aligned with client objectives and evolving market conditions
  • Strong communication skills both written and verbal
  • Proven success leading, mentoring, and developing high-performing teams
  • Ability to delegate and hold team & partners accountable
  • Experience working within Applied Epic preferred
  • Experience with MS Office products required (specifically PowerPoint, Outlook, Word, and Excel)
  • Travel required (up to 40% based on client book of business)
  • Skilled at understanding the client’s entire business as it relates to insurance protection (matching to their aversion level of risk) as it relates to specific terms & conditions
  • Thorough understanding of loss sensitive casualty programs, captives, international programs and large shared/layered property programs
  • Enhances IMA's market presence through thought leadership, industry engagement, carrier partnerships, and subject matter expertise.
  • Holds general insurance designation
  • Holds formal specialty designation (ARM, CPCU, Industry specific designation, etc.)
