AI Research Engineer
Investigate AI and machine-learning ideas, design and run experiments, evaluate results, develop scalable implementations, present research, produce technical reports, and collaborate on next-generation AI hardware.
Responsibilities
- Generate AI and machine-learning ideas, design experiments, implement them, and evaluate results.
- Prepare, submit, and present work at AI conferences and workshops.
- Provide technical insight through experiments and clear, actionable reports.
- Collaborate with researchers, silicon engineers, and software engineers to define, build, and test next-generation AI hardware.
Requirements
- Master’s degree, PhD, or equivalent experience in a technical discipline.
- Python programming experience with a modern deep-learning framework such as PyTorch or JAX.
- Familiarity with deep-learning models, optimisation, evaluation, and scaling.
- Ability to design, execute, and report on machine-learning experiments.
- Lower-level programming experience for hardware efficiency, such as C++, CUDA, or Triton.
- Practical familiarity with deep-learning hardware capabilities, including threads, caches, vector and matrix engines, data dependencies, bus widths, and throttling.
- Practical familiarity with deep-learning software stacks, including compilation, kernel fusion, XLA or ATen operations, streams, and asynchronous execution.
- Right to work in the United Kingdom.
