Applied AI Data Scientist
Work across client projects and internal research initiatives to solve real-world problems, build data-driven solutions, leverage machine learning models, and pursue high-impact research aligned with increasing agency. Promising projects may become prioritized Skunkworks initiatives.
Responsibilities
- Work on a mix of client projects and internal research initiatives
- Build data-driven solutions and leverage machine learning models
- Propose and pursue high-impact research projects
- Contribute to AI alignment research
- Manage client relationships and deliver results
Requirements
- Fluency in Python
- Experience with the LLM lifecycle, including prompt design and engineering, RAG, few-shot prompting, chain-of-thought, vector databases, multimodality, fine-tuning, and evaluation
- Proven data science experience delivering real-world outcomes
- Statistical and causal ML fundamentals, including experimental design, uncertainty quantification, and rigorous model evaluation
- Deep learning experience building and training NLP or computer vision models with PyTorch, TensorFlow, or JAX
- Experience with Agile development using lean Kanban or Scrum cycles and AI-powered tools such as Cursor
- Growth mindset
