Applied AI Scientist
Summary
Leads end-to-end development of applied AI solutions, building demos and prototypes that leverage vision, language, and multimodal foundation models and agentic AI systems for enterprise customers. Partners with go-to-market teams to shape opportunities and transition validated capabilities into scalable, production-ready components using Python and PyTorch.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead the end-to-end development of AI solutions for real-world customer use cases, partnering closely with go-to-market teams to identify and shape high-value opportunities
- Operate in a zero-to-one capacity — rapidly building demos, prototypes, and proof-of-concepts that validate both technical feasibility and business impact
- Leverage, customise, and fine-tune state-of-the-art vision, language, and multimodal foundation models to address domain-specific challenges across industrial and commercial verticals
- Design, develop, and deploy agentic AI systems that orchestrate reasoning, decision-making, and workflow automation within enterprise environments
- Build intelligent data pipelines and workflows that convert structured and unstructured signals into actionable insights
- Collaborate with product and engineering teams to transition validated capabilities into scalable, production-ready platform components deployed across cloud and hybrid environments
- Engage directly with senior and C-suite stakeholders, presenting AI strategies and technical roadmaps with clarity, confidence, and strong executive presence
Requirements
- Bachelor's, Master's or Ph.D. in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, or a related technical discipline
- Strong foundation in deep learning, with hands-on experience across one or more of the following: computer vision, natural language processing, and/or multimodal modelling
- Demonstrated experience training, fine-tuning, or adapting large-scale foundation models for applied or domain-specific use cases
- Proficiency in Python and PyTorch for model development, experimentation, and prototyping
- Experience building and deploying agentic AI systems, including orchestration of multi-step reasoning and decision workflows
- Proven ability to communicate complex technical concepts clearly to both technical and non-technical audiences, including senior leadership
- Experience deploying AI systems into production environments (cloud or edge) (is a bonus)
