Appraisal Manager
Manage appraisal assignments from client intake through final report delivery, coordinating clients, specialists, schedules, valuations, documentation, invoicing, and project records. Draft USPAP-compliant reports, support onsite examinations through photography and cataloguing, communicate with clients, and contribute to process improvements.
Responsibilities
- Manage appraisal assignments from initial engagement through final report delivery.
- Coordinate client intake, specialist outreach, scheduling, timelines, and invoicing.
- Serve as the primary client contact and communicate project updates.
- Draft, edit, and assemble USPAP-compliant appraisal reports.
- Coordinate with internal and contractor specialists to obtain valuations and documentation.
- Perform and support onsite examinations, including photography and cataloguing.
- Maintain project records in CRM and project management systems.
- Flag status changes, scope adjustments, and timeline risks.
- Contribute to process improvements, template development, and workflow initiatives.
Requirements
- Three to five years of experience in personal property appraisal, art research, or a related art services role.
- Current USPAP certification, such as 15-Hour USPAP or equivalent.
- ASA, AAA, or equivalent professional designation in progress or achieved.
- Strong organizational and written communication skills.
- Experience in personal property categories such as fine art, decorative art, jewelry, silver, furniture, or collectibles.
- Comfort with technology-enabled workflows and digital collection management platforms.
- Familiarity with auction databases and art market research tools.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office and Google Workspace.
- Comfort with CRM systems and project management platforms.
- Ability to travel for onsite examinations.
