Area Operations Manager - Retail (Permanent) Richards Bay
This role is ideal for a candidate with Food Retail Management experience or strong proven senior retail experience
What You'll Need
- General retail experience 8 years ++
- 5–7 years in multi-site retail operations
- Branch or Regional Management retail experience at least 5 years
- Strong financial, stock control, and people management skills
- Valid driver's licence — extensive travel required
- Proficient in MS Office, Google Suite, and POS systems
Key Responsibilities
- Drive GP% targets and conduct weekly financial reviews across all sites
- Enforce stock controls — shrinkage below 1%, fuel variances below 0.5%
- Maintain site standards: cleanliness, pricing, merchandising, and compliance
- Oversee cash, banking, reconciliations, and back-office accuracy
- Lead, coach, and performance manage Site Managers and Supervisors
- Handle recruitment, disciplinaries, and CCMA matters
- Ensure HSEQ compliance and full system accuracy across all platforms
