EECU is looking for an Assistant Enterprise Risk (ERM) Manager to play a pivotal role in driving the transformation of the ERM function across the credit union. This position will work with the VP Risk Management and other executive leadership to enhance the existing ERM framework, ensuring it aligns with the company's strategic objectives.


Responsibilities of the position include:

  • Support the development and continuous improvement of the enterprise risk management (ERM) program, including policies, procedures, risk taxonomy, rating scales, and governance processes in accordance with industry standards (e.g., COSO ERM, ISO 31000), and best practices.
  • Manage the day-to-day administration of the credit union's Business Continuity Management program.
  • Oversee quantitative and qualitative risk identification, assessment, prioritization, and aggregation processes, including the development and use of data analytics, key risk indicators (KRIs), dashboards, and supporting tools to provide forward-looking, actionable insights.
  • Evaluate effectiveness of risk mitigation strategies and controls, monitor risk mitigation efforts, and provide recommendations to strengthen enterprise risk responses and organizational resilience.
  • Monitor emerging risks, industry trends, and regulatory developments and provide guidance to leadership on potential impacts and appropriate actions.
  • Support the development and ongoing improvement of the organization’s risk management program, including identifying and assessing enterprise-wide risk areas such as financial, operational, compliance, and strategic risks.
  • Conduct risk assessments by identifying potential risks, evaluating controls, and recommending appropriate risk mitigation strategies and responses.
  • Analyze and evaluate organizational risks by reviewing historical risk events and comparing potential risks against organizational standards, regulatory requirements, and industry best practices.
  • Assist with implementation and maintenance of an ERM application to maintain an active ERM platform, including Risk Committee-level reporting, and liaise with internal and external consultants, auditors, and examiners, as appropriate.
  • Facilitate meetings and planning sessions with stakeholders to gather information, document critical functions, and coordinate continuity planning efforts in support of enterprise-wide preparedness initiatives.
  • Monitor emerging risks and trends that may impact the organization and support the Information Security Program through continuous monitoring of member information risk assessments.
  • Build organizational risk and continuity awareness by providing support and training, including workshops, tabletop exercises, and other preparedness activities to promote awareness and test organizational readiness.
  • Lead the development, implementation, and maintenance of the credit union’s Business Impact Analysis (BIA), Disaster Recovery, and Business Continuity Management (BCM) programs.
  • Partner with business lines to identify essential business functions, evaluate operational risks and dependencies, and establish recovery priorities and continuity strategies.
