Asst. Cost Planning Manager
Job Summary
The Assistant Cost Planning Manager - Hospitality is to provide leadership in the pre-construction phase of projects to ensure success. The Cost Planning Manager shall coordinate with the Lead Architects assigned to the team to determine areas of responsibility and assignments. The Assistant Cost Planning Manager is expected to provide direction and assistance to the Estimating Team/Cost Planning Team and determine what is required to meet the objectives of the team and business units and implement actions accordingly. The Assistant Cost Planning Manager ensures to produce a Unit Cost Analysis per line item.
Duties and Responsibilities
1. STANDARDIZATION
- Keep a timely and accurate standard unit cost reference to have a reliable basis for cost estimate
- Completion of Unit Cost Database and set-up/uploading in Cubicost,
- Establish a Detailed Unit Cost Analysis
2. SYSTEM/PROCESSES
- Make the approved unit cost reference for use by the various departments such as PED, CPCAD, CP, etc. for consistency and accessible thru the Building Information
- Modeling/Quantity Takeoff Software (Cubicost) to generate BOQs timely and accurately.
- Timely submission of BOQs/Cost Estimates to requisitioning parties; 100% uploading of all cost estimates in Newforma or any available software/system
- Implementation of JO System thru (Smartsheet); Implementation of standard cost charging to business units for each type of service
3. COST PLANNING AS A VALUE ENGINEERING TOOL
To effectively use cost planning in the various project design phases to keep projects within their financial budgets
Full/100% coverage of all projects across all design phases:
- Conceptual/High-level Cost Assumptions - all project types
- Schematic Elemental Cost - all project types
- Design Development Cost - all project types
- Contract Document and Tender Cost - all project types
4. STRATEGY AND MONITORING
- To regularly check and propose new products, methodologies and services that can be used in projects for possible cost savings and advantages at least 3% cost savings as reflected on the Project
- Design Parameters and Cost KPI Tracker
Technical Competencies and Skills
- Proficient in MS Office Applications (Word, Excel, PowePoint, etc.)
- Proficient in Cubicost, Planswift or other similar measurement application system
- Knowledgeable on how to interpret plans and specifications
- Knowledgeable in creating Detailed Unit Price Analysis
- Cost Planning Experience on various project types
Education, Trainings and Licenses Required
- Graduate of BS Civil Engineering
- Must be a Licensed Civil Engineer
- At least 10-year work experience related to Quantity Surveying or Cost Planning/Estimation
