Business Analyst

We are looking for a Business Analyst with relevant experience in the asset management domain to support front-office investment workflows and systems. The successful candidate will work closely with portfolio managers, IT, risk, finance teams, and external vendors to translate business requirements into effective technology solutions and ensure smooth implementation and adoption.

Key Responsibilities

• Work closely with portfolio managers to understand business requirements and translate them into technical requirements, and vice versa.
• Design, test, and implement processes, tools, and systems in partnership with in-house IT, risk, and finance teams, as well as external software vendors and service providers, to support front-office investment workflows.
• Develop test plans for system, process and product upgrades, and participate in User Acceptance Testing (UAT).
• Develop and maintain user guides and system documentation relating to processes, tools and systems implemented for front-office investment workflows.
• Plan and work with multiple departments within MAS to implement roadmaps for front-office workflow improvements, including feature development and system upgrades.
• Ensure front-office processes and procedures meet internal standards for data integrity, security and auditability.
• Monitor, analyse and troubleshoot front-office processes to ensure smooth operations, working closely with in-house IT teams and external service providers to resolve production issues.
• Manage project implementations with vendors and service providers, including procurement and related administrative matters.
• Oversee change management activities to facilitate the adoption of new products and systems, including the re-engineering of workflows and processes where required.

Requirements

• Knowledge and experience with investment systems, including but not limited to Murex, SimCorp Dimension, BlackRock Aladdin and Charles River.
• Understanding of public markets transaction workflows from front to back office, particularly in the fixed income and foreign exchange (FX) markets.
• An undergraduate degree in a business-related or IT-related field.
• At least 4 years of relevant working experience, including business analysis and/or product management of systems supporting similar functions within the asset management domain.
• Strong sense of ownership and a growth mindset.
• Strong analytical, critical thinking and problem-solving skills.
• Good understanding of user-centric principles and/or service design.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to convey complex information effectively to stakeholders at different levels.
• Experience working in cross-functional teams, representing different stakeholder perspectives and influencing teams towards achieving shared goals.
• Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously, with varying technical requirements, stakeholder engagement levels and timelines.
• Ability to adapt to changing business requirements and work around unforeseen system restrictions or constraints.
• Experience developing test plans and managing testing activities for project implementations and system enhancements.
• Experience developing and maintaining user guides and system documentation.
• Experience managing project schedules and timelines to ensure timely completion of deliverables.
