Summary
Contract Business Analyst supporting a 12-week diagnostic review of disaster grants assessment processes for a Queensland Government statutory body. Day-to-day work involves current-state process mapping, workflow and effort analysis, root cause identification, and recommending improvement opportunities using Lean Six Sigma methods.
Salary: No contractor fees / two pay runs per week

Lime Recruitment is currently working with a Queensland Government client to recruit an experienced Business Analyst. In this role, you will support the Senior Lead Improvement Specialist to undertake a short, targeted diagnostic review of the disaster grants assessment process.
Key Responsibilities:
Support the mapping and documentation of current-state disaster grants assessment processes, including key decision points, hand-offs, queues, and rework loops.
Gather and analyse workflow, effort, file samples, and observation/time study data to identify waste, bottlenecks, and drivers of processing effort.
Review procedures, guidance materials, and operational practices to identify root causes of inefficiency, duplication, or rework.
Assist in identifying, documenting, and prioritizing practical improvement opportunities based on benefit, effort, risk, and timing.
Contribute to diagnostic outputs, working papers, baseline performance inputs, waste/issue logs, and roadmap documentation.
Support stakeholder engagement and validation activities to ensure operational insights and review findings are factually accurate and well-understood.
Ensure all review activities comply with QRIDA governance, confidentiality, privacy, and recordkeeping requirements.
About You:
Demonstrated experience in process analysis, workflow review, data gathering, and current-state/future-state process mapping.
Proven background supporting operational improvement reviews, time-and-motion/observation studies, file sampling, or root cause analysis.
Formal training/certification in Lean Six Sigma (Green Belt or higher, IASSC or equivalent) or comparable process improvement methodology (or equivalent practical experience).
Strong written and verbal communication skills with the ability to work collaboratively alongside operational teams and senior lead practitioners.
Prior experience in government/public sector environments, grants assessment, lending, claims, or case management processing.
