Business Analytics Analyst I
Summary
Business Analytics Analyst who models and improves business processes, authors requirement documentation, and bridges business stakeholders with IT/development teams. Day-to-day work centers on SQL data extraction, Excel/Access/Visio reporting, BRD writing, and supporting integration and UAT testing cycles.
Responsible for analyzing and modeling existing business processes with a goal of understanding and documenting current business procedures and identifying areas for improvement. Serves as a liaison to the information technology groups in the organization. Uses modeling tools to document the current state of business processes as well as the desired future state. Oversees the knowledge transfer of business implications to the application, database developers, and project managers.
Principal Accountabilities:
• Performs feasibility analysis, scopes projects, and works with the project management team to prioritize deliverables and negotiate on product functionalities.
• Creates detailed Business Requirement Document (BRD) and translates it into functional specifications.
• Provides analytic support by coordinating data extraction from various sources and data interpretation.
• Partners with development and analytic teams to provide reporting on software solutions.
• Participates in Integration Testing, User Acceptance Testing (UAT), and Functionality Testing.
• Performs other related duties as assigned.
Required:
• Bachelor's degree in Business, Information Technology or related field.
• 2-3 years of experience working as a Functional, Data or Business Analyst.
• 2-3 years of experience with MS Access, MS Excel (Advanced), Visio, and MS Project.
• 1-3 years of customer interfacing experience.
• 0-3 years SQL Server 2005/2008 knowledge (T-SQL, Tables, Views).
Preferred:
• Experience working in a Health Care facility, Hospital System or relevant area.
