Location: Singapore
Employment Type: Full-time
Department: Projects & Business Development
Reports to: Managing Director
About the Role
We are looking for an ambitious and commercially driven Business Development Manager to establish and grow BoConcept's presence in the B2B and project market in Singapore.
This is a market-building role. Your primary mission will be to identify new business opportunities, build relationships with key decision-makers and establish BoConcept as a preferred furniture partner for interior designers, architects, property developers, hospitality groups, corporate clients and other project-based customers.
You will be responsible for developing the project pipeline from the ground up, from identifying and opening new accounts through to pitching, quotation, negotiation and closing.
The ideal candidate is a natural relationship builder who enjoys opening doors, creating opportunities and turning relationships into business.
Key Responsibilities
1. Build the BoConcept Projects Business
Develop and execute a strategy to establish BoConcept as a recognised player in the Singapore B2B and project furniture market.
Identify priority market segments and target accounts with strong project potential.
Build a robust pipeline of projects across residential, commercial, hospitality, office and other relevant sectors.
Proactively identify upcoming developments and projects where BoConcept could participate.
Establish BoConcept as a preferred furniture partner for design professionals and project decision-makers.
2. New Business Development
Actively prospect and develop new B2B accounts.
Identify and engage architects, interior designers, developers, procurement teams, hospitality groups, corporate clients and other relevant stakeholders.
Generate new leads through networking, referrals, industry events, direct outreach and strategic partnerships.
Arrange meetings and presentations with key decision-makers.
Understand client requirements and identify opportunities where BoConcept's products and capabilities can provide a strong solution.
Build relationships beyond individual projects to create long-term commercial partnerships.
3. Architect & Interior Designer Network
Develop a strong network within the architecture and interior design community.
Introduce designers and studios to BoConcept's products, design capabilities and Trade Programme.
Conduct presentations, showroom appointments, product briefings and designer events.
Build relationships with key designers who can influence furniture specifications and project decisions.
Develop a systematic approach to nurturing the designer network and converting relationships into project opportunities.
4. Project Acquisition & Management
Identify projects at an early stage and work to secure BoConcept's involvement during the specification process.
Understand project briefs, budgets, timelines and furniture requirements.
Prepare proposals, quotations and presentations tailored to project requirements.
Coordinate closely with the showroom, design, operations and procurement teams to deliver projects successfully.
Manage the sales process from initial enquiry through negotiation and closing.
Maintain strong follow-up discipline to ensure opportunities progress through the pipeline.
5. Develop Strategic Partnerships
Identify and establish partnerships with property developers, design firms, hospitality operators, corporate organisations and other strategic partners.
Explore opportunities for BoConcept to participate in show units, serviced apartments, hotels, offices, clubhouses and other developments.
Develop relationships that can generate recurring or multi-project business.
Identify opportunities for customised furniture solutions where appropriate.
6. Commercial Growth & Sales
Own B2B sales targets and project revenue objectives.
Develop a healthy and measurable sales pipeline.
Prepare commercial proposals and negotiate pricing and terms within approved guidelines.
Maximise project value through appropriate product selection and cross-selling.
Track conversion rates, project value, sales forecasts and pipeline development.
Provide regular sales forecasts and market updates to management.
7. Market Intelligence
Develop a strong understanding of the Singapore project and commercial furniture market.
Monitor upcoming residential, hospitality, commercial and property developments.
Track competitors, pricing, market positioning and emerging opportunities.
Identify gaps in the market where BoConcept can differentiate itself.
Bring market intelligence back to the business to influence product, pricing and marketing strategies.
8. Events, Networking & Brand Representation
Represent BoConcept at relevant industry events, exhibitions, networking sessions and design community gatherings.
Develop B2B events and initiatives to build awareness within the design community.
Organise showroom presentations, designer evenings and project-focused events.
Build BoConcept's reputation within Singapore's architecture and interior design ecosystem.
What We Are Looking For
We are looking for a hunter, relationship builder and commercial entrepreneur.
The ideal candidate will have:
Proven experience in B2B business development, project sales or account acquisition.
Experience in furniture, interiors, architecture, construction, property, hospitality or another project-driven industry is highly advantageous.
An established network within the architecture, interior design, property or hospitality industry is a strong advantage.
A demonstrated ability to open new accounts and generate business from cold or relatively undeveloped markets.
Strong prospecting, presentation, negotiation and closing skills.
Excellent relationship-building and communication skills.
Strong commercial acumen and the ability to understand project economics.
A highly proactive and self-motivated approach.
Excellent follow-up and pipeline management discipline.
The confidence to approach senior decision-makers and build relationships at multiple levels.
A genuine interest in design, interiors, architecture and premium lifestyle brands.
The Person We Are Looking For
This role will suit someone who gets energy from opening doors.
You are comfortable picking up the phone, sending the first message, asking for the meeting and walking into a room where nobody knows you yet.
You don't wait for leads to arrive. You create them.
You are equally comfortable speaking with an interior designer about aesthetics, a developer about project requirements and a procurement manager about commercial considerations.
Most importantly, you understand that B2B business is built through trust, persistence and relationships, often long before a purchase order appears.
Key Performance Indicators
Success in this role will be measured by:
New B2B accounts acquired.
Number and value of qualified projects in the pipeline.
Project conversion rate.
B2B sales revenue and gross margin.
Number of active architect and interior designer relationships.
Number of projects where BoConcept is specified.
Number of strategic partnerships established.
Repeat business and account development.
Growth of BoConcept's presence and reputation within the project market.
Why Join Us?
This is an opportunity to build something rather than inherit something.
You will play a key role in establishing BoConcept's presence in Singapore's project and B2B market, with the freedom to develop relationships, identify opportunities and create the commercial engine that can drive this business forward.
If you are a natural business developer who enjoys turning a conversation into a meeting, a meeting into an opportunity, and an opportunity into a project, we would love to hear from you.
