Business Support Analyst - Data Controller, JHB

The role supports the Lubricants Sales force providing analytical input (through data mining and analytics) into the commercial decisions that are required, which enables the Sales Force to spend more time facing customers and perform their duties optimally.
The day-to-day and monthly requirements of the role require a lot of manual/non-automated intervention.
The tools used in the environment require a lot of data mining and analysis, as well as additional checks (SOD - preparer and reviewer) to ensure the data is valid, accurate and complete.

• Pricing Tool: Provide ongoing support to Sales Force on tool queries, Data Mining/Management; Pulling and analysing Pricing, Product, OPEX information from SAP/BI.
• SAP Maintenance duties: Daily/Ongoing Maintenance, Update Pricing Conditions - related to approved deals. Update List Conditions (List Price, Product Inclusion/Exclusion, Rose Foundation etc.)

• Preparing Daily and Weekly Sales Volumes.
• Maintain all mapping databases both Excel and Access.
• Provide Sales Support in the following areas: preparing price quotes, monitoring pricing conditions drawing price reports, assist with pipeline management and analyst support for customers.
• Assist in support the business with commercial deal assessments and reviews.

Incumbent must have experience in developing economics for projects, pricing and decision support

A thorough understanding of commercial drivers that affect enterprise profitability and returns on investment.

The ability to articulate business performance through written and verbal presentation skills.

The ability to influence performance.

Required:

• Understanding of information / data on business performance; measurement; capabilities and decision making
• Ability to work under pressure; in stressful solutions to tight timelines on multiple initiatives simultaneously
• Analytical skills necessary to understand, manipulate, describe and display data

Qualification and experience

• A Degree in Commerce/Business science
• Minimum 5 years post qualifying experience
• The incumbent must have experience in developing economics for project decision support.
• A thorough understanding of the commercial drivers that impact enterprise profitability and returns on investment
• The ability to articulate business performance through excellent presentation skills, both written and verbal.
• The ability to engage with all levels of the organization.
• Much of the success of this role depends on the ability of the incumbent to influence performance.
