Chief Information Security Officer / IT Security Manager

This hands-on security leadership role owns IT security strategy, operations, cloud security, threat detection, incident response, crypto custody and key management, regulatory compliance, audits, and the foundations of a scalable security team.

Responsibilities

• Own and operate the security function end to end.
• Set cloud-native security requirements and review infrastructure configuration.
• Run threat detection, monitoring, incident response, and vulnerability management.
• Embed secure-by-design principles into the SDLC.
• Manage custody controls, HSMs, wallet architecture, key ceremonies, and recovery.
• Align security with DORA, ISO 27001, and SOC 2.
• Support operational resilience, security audits, and FMA licensing activities.
• Run security awareness programs and communicate risk posture to leadership.
• Build and scale the security team.

Requirements

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Information Security, or a related field, or equivalent experience.
• 5–8 years of information or cybersecurity experience.
• Practical cloud, product, operational security, risk management, and compliance knowledge.
• CISSP, CISM, CCISO, or ISO 27001 certification preferred.
• Familiarity with crypto and key-management security, custody, HSMs, and wallet architecture.
• Fluent English required; German proficiency preferred.
• Strong communication and stakeholder management skills.
• Ability to work in a regulated, hands-on environment and travel to Vienna when required.
