Commissioning Manager
Praetorian Power Protection has partnered with one of our General Contractor clients to identify a highly capable Commissioning Manager to support our mission-critical group in Reno, Nevada. We’re looking for a hands-on leader with deep technical knowledge and proven experience managing complex commissioning efforts in the field.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and manage a comprehensive commissioning plan and integrated schedule covering inspection, startup, testing, and closeout phases.
- Lead commissioning field activities and direct internal teams, subcontractors, and vendors, while ensuring safety compliance with NFPA 70E and LOTO requirements.
- Implement and oversee commissioning management software tools (such as BIM360, ACC Build, and CxAlloy) to track documentation and execution.
- Coordinate with client and client’s commissioning agent to define and deliver project-specific requirements, test scripts, and turnover documentation.
- Manage technical reviews, including MEP systems, QA/QC coordination, load bank planning, equipment startup, and factory witness testing.
- Act as a subject matter expert in design reviews, scope matrix development, budgeting, and script feasibility for high-performance building systems.
Qualifications:
- Technical engineering degree or equivalent hands-on technical experience (minimum 5 years).
- Experience leading commissioning activities for large-scale construction projects, preferably data centers or other mission-critical environments.
- Strong experience commissioning L2 – L5.
- Broad expertise across mechanical, electrical, and control systems (BMS, BAS).
- Familiarity with NFPA 70E and development/implementation of LOTO programs.
- Proficient in commissioning software platforms (e.g., CxAlloy, BIM360, ACC).
- Must be able to work on-site
