Compliance Officer and MLRO
Manage daily AML and compliance activities, oversee the AML program, advise stakeholders on regulatory obligations, lead AML and KYC projects, maintain regulatory registers, file required reports, liaise with regulators and law enforcement, and monitor accounts and transaction flows for AML and CFT risk.
Responsibilities
- Conduct AML and CFT reviews and risk monitoring on accounts and transaction flows.
- Advise stakeholders on existing and ongoing regulatory obligations and standards.
- Develop and enhance AML governance, policies, procedures, and processes.
- Develop compliance procedures and controls and provide commercially oriented compliance advice.
- Implement and review compliance policies, procedures, and practices.
- Lead and contribute to compliance projects, including enhancements to AML and KYC systems.
- Maintain regulatory registers and make necessary filings with regulators.
- Liaise with regulators and law enforcement agencies regarding requests and filing STRs.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Business, Finance, or Law.
- Compliance professional designation such as ICA or CAMS.
- 8 to 10 years of relevant compliance experience in a financial institution or regulated entity.
- Strong communication, interpersonal, analytical, organizational, and prioritization skills.
- Knowledge of financial institution business dynamics, virtual assets, and payment services.
- Proficiency in spoken and written English and Cantonese.
- Proficiency with Google products and AI agentic tools such as Claude.
- Experience with VA KYT analytical tools such as Chainalysis and Eliptics is a strong plus.
