CONSTRUCTION PROJECT MANAGER
We are seeking a highly experienced, hands-on, and results-driven Construction Project Manager specializing in Mechanical & Electrical (M&E) works to take full responsibility for the successful delivery of complex and technically demanding construction projects. This is a high-pressure and demanding position requiring strong technical knowledge, leadership, commercial awareness, and the ability to manage multiple M&E activities simultaneously. The successful candidate must be prepared to work extended hours, weekends, public holidays, and outside normal working hours whenever project requirements demand it.
The role requires a Construction Project Manager who is willing to be actively involved on site, take ownership of problems, make decisions quickly, and drive the project team toward completion.
Key Responsibilities:-
- Take full responsibility for the planning, coordination, execution, and completion of M&E works.
- Manage all mechanical and electrical construction activities from mobilization through testing, commissioning, and handover.
- Coordinate M&E works with architectural, structural, civil, and other construction activities.
- Manage M&E contractors, subcontractors, suppliers, consultants, site supervisors, engineers, and workers.
- Review and coordinate M&E drawings, shop drawings, technical submissions, specifications, and method statements.
- Ensure M&E installation works are carried out according to approved drawings, specifications, statutory requirements, and project schedules.
- Plan and monitor manpower, materials, equipment, deliveries, and specialist subcontractors.
- Develop and maintain detailed M&E work schedules and coordinate critical activities with the overall master construction programme.
- Monitor daily progress and immediately address delays, manpower shortages, material shortages, technical issues, and coordination problems.
- Lead M&E coordination meetings and site meetings with consultants, contractors, and clients.
- Resolve technical clashes and site coordination issues quickly to prevent delays to other trades.
- Coordinate installation, testing, commissioning, inspection, and handover of M&E systems.
- Monitor the quality of M&E installations and ensure defective or incomplete works are rectified promptly.
- Manage inspections, testing and commissioning activities and ensure all required documentation is properly completed.
- Monitor project costs, variations, claims, procurement, and subcontractor performance.
- Review and control M&E variations and ensure additional works are properly documented and commercially managed.
- Liaise with authorities, consultants, clients, suppliers, and specialist contractors where required.
- Prepare progress reports, technical reports, programme updates, and management reports.
- Identify project risks and implement corrective actions before they affect cost, quality, or schedule.
- Ensure proper coordination and completion of as-built drawings, O&M manuals, testing records, warranties, and handover documentation.
- Lead the M&E team through difficult project stages, including testing, commissioning, defects, and final handover.
