Summary
Contract Architect supporting space planning and architectural design for a medical tower project, including test-fits, drawing reviews, stakeholder coordination and compliance with healthcare facility standards. Core tools are AutoCAD, Revit, PowerPoint and Excel.
Key Responsibilities
Space Planning & Architectural Design
Support the development and review of clinical and non-clinical space planning layouts
Conduct test-fit exercises and develop planning options based on departmental requirements
Review architectural drawings, plans, sections and consultant submissions
Ensure user requirements and approved Schedules of Accommodation (SOA) are accurately reflected in designs
Support planning and coordination of furniture, fixtures and equipment (FFE) requirements
User & Stakeholder Coordination
Attend planning and design meetings with clinical users, operational teams and consultants
Capture user requirements and translate discussions into clear summaries and action items
Prepare accurate meeting minutes and track decisions, outstanding matters and follow-ups
Communicate user requirements clearly to appointed consultants
Identify design issues, conflicting requirements and gaps in user briefs
Documentation & Presentation
Prepare PowerPoint presentations, planning reports, design briefs and meeting minutes
Present planning options, recommendations and project updates to stakeholders
Assist with preparation of submission and approval documents
Maintain accurate records of planning decisions and design changes
Design Coordination & Compliance
Review consultant submissions against approved space planning strategies and design intent
Support the review of architectural designs for compliance with local building codes and healthcare facility design standards
Liaise with consultants to clarify and resolve design queries
Maintain drawing registers, document control and version management
Requirements
Minimum Degree in Architecture or a related Built Environment discipline
Candidates with 3–6 years of experience in architectural practice, space planning or healthcare facility planning will also be considered
Able to confidently read and interpret architectural drawings, plans, sections and layouts
Strong understanding of spatial planning, workflow, adjacency and functionality
Proficient in AutoCAD
Working knowledge of Revit is an advantage
Proficient in Microsoft PowerPoint, Excel and Word
Strong written communication skills, including preparation of meeting minutes and planning reports
Good knowledge of local building codes, regulations and planning requirements
Organised, meticulous and able to manage multiple workstreams and deadlines
Interest in healthcare design, patient-centric environments and complex institutional buildings is highly advantageous
