Corporate Development & Investment Manager
Role Summary
We are seeking a Corporate Development & Investment Manager to support the identification, evaluation and execution of new business concepts, investment opportunities and strategic partnerships.
This role combines business development, investment analysis and commercial evaluation, with a strong focus on translating early-stage ideas into structured business cases and investment recommendations. The successful candidate will assess market opportunities, develop financial models and feasibility studies, support due diligence, evaluate investment and project risks, and provide clear recommendations to senior management.
The role requires a highly analytical and commercially minded individual who can move effectively between creative business concept development and disciplined financial, commercial and risk assessment.
Key Responsibilities
1. Business Concept Development &Strategy
- Partner with senior stakeholders to identify, develop and structure new business concepts, ventures, expansion opportunities and strategic initiatives.
- Translate strategic ideas into structured business cases, including market sizing, competitive analysis, commercial positioning, go-to-market strategy and value creation opportunities.
- Conduct market and industry research to assess emerging trends, market attractiveness and potential growth opportunities.
- Support the development and continuous improvement of business development frameworks, evaluation methodologies and workflow tools.
2. Investment & Business Due Diligence
- Lead or support end-to-end due diligence for prospective investments, joint ventures, strategic partnerships and new business opportunities.
- Assess opportunities across commercial, financial, operational, legal and regulatory dimensions.
- Coordinate cross-functional input from Finance, Legal, HR, Operations and other relevant stakeholders to ensure comprehensive due diligence.
- Consolidate findings, identify key issues and risks, and prepare due diligence reports and recommendations for senior management and investment committees.
- Identify potential deal-breakers, information gaps and areas requiring further investigation.
3. Investment & Project Risk Assessment
- Identify, assess and quantify key risks associated with prospective investments, partnerships and business projects.
- Develop risk assessment and mitigation frameworks and ensure material risks are clearly highlighted during the evaluation process.
- Conduct sensitivity and scenario analysis to assess the impact of key commercial, financial and operational assumptions.
- Monitor relevant macroeconomic, regulatory, industry and market developments affecting Singapore and regional opportunities.
4. Business Case, Feasibility & Financial Evaluation
- Develop and evaluate financial models, feasibility studies, investment cases, ROI and payback analyses for proposed projects.
- Assess key investment metrics, including revenue potential, profitability, cash flow, valuation, return expectations and downside scenarios.
- Apply structured evaluation criteria covering:

# Market attractiveness and competitive position
# Business model and commercial viability
# Capability and resource requirements
# Financial attractiveness
# Regulatory and compliance readiness
# Governance considerations
# Scalability and long-term potential
- Rank and priorities opportunities based on strategic and financial attractiveness.
- Present clear, concise and evidence-based recommendations, including go/no-go decisions, investment considerations, deal structuring options and indicative valuation parameters.
5. Investment & Deal Support
- Apply investment-grade analytical discipline when assessing deal quality, investment rationale, risks and value creation potential.
- Support the evaluation and structuring of joint ventures, strategic partnerships and equity investments.
- Assist senior management in negotiation preparation by providing relevant commercial, financial and analytical insights.
- Maintain and monitor the business development and investment pipeline, including opportunity status, key milestones and next steps.
- Contribute to periodic investment and portfolio reviews.
Requirements
Experience
- 5-7 years of relevant experience in corporate development, business development, private equity, venture capital, investment banking, management consulting, strategy, investment or a related field.
- Demonstrated experience in financial modelling, business case development, feasibility analysis or due diligence.
- Prior exposure to investment transactions, M&A, joint ventures, strategic partnerships or investment evaluation would be strongly preferred.
- Candidates with strong analytical experience in corporate strategy, consulting or business development may also be considered.
Skills & Knowledge
· Strong financial analysis and modelling capabilities, including valuation, ROIanalysis, sensitivity analysis and scenario modelling.
· Good understanding of commercial due diligence and investment evaluationmethodologies.
· Ability to assess business models, market attractiveness, competitive dynamics andinvestment risks.
· Familiarity with Singapore's regulatory and business environment, including areas such asACRA, MOM, corporate compliance and KYC/AML, would be an advantage.
· Excellent analytical, business writing and presentation skills, with the ability todistil complex information into clear and actionable recommendations.
· Strong stakeholder management skills, with the ability to work effectively acrossFinance, Legal, HR, Operations and other functions.
· Strong attention to detail, commercial acumen and sound business judgment.
Education
- Bachelor’s degree in business, Finance, Economics, Accounting or a related discipline.
- MBA or relevant professional qualification such as CFA or CPA would be an advantage.
Other Requirements
· Comfortable working with ambiguity and managing multiple priorities in a fast-paced, entrepreneurial environment.
· Self-motivated, commercially driven and able to work independently while collaborating effectively with senior stakeholders.
· Strong written and verbal communication skills in English.
· Mandarin proficiency is preferred given the role's potential regional stakeholder engagement.
What Success Looks Like – First 6–12 Months
Within the first 6–12 months, the successful candidate is expected to:
- Independently lead or materially contribute to due diligence for at least one live investment, partnership or business opportunity.
- Develop or contribute significantly to at least one structured business case or feasibility study that supports a go/no-go investment or business decision.
- Build a strong understanding of the company's business development and investment evaluation framework.
- Establish a robust and well-organized opportunity pipeline with clear evaluation criteria, status tracking and next steps.
- Become a trusted analytical and commercial partner to the GM and senior leadership team in evaluating new business and investment opportunities.
