Country Manager
Own and drive the US business unit strategy, maintain a US-specific backlog, translate goals into concrete workstreams, report progress to leadership, build regulatory and partner relationships, identify growth opportunities, coordinate stakeholders, and oversee operations and budgets.
Responsibilities
- Own and drive the US business unit strategy.
- Maintain a US-specific backlog tied to the company-wide product and business backlog.
- Translate strategic goals into concrete workstreams and follow through until delivered.
- Report regularly to leadership on progress and blockers.
- Serve as the primary point of contact with US regulators and ensure ongoing compliance.
- Build relationships with financial institutions, regulators, and industry stakeholders.
- Lead external discussions with partners, authorities, and third parties.
- Partner with Legal and Compliance on the US regulatory landscape.
- Pursue partnerships and business opportunities supporting expansion.
- Represent the company at industry events, conferences, and in media.
- Coordinate cross-functional contributors around shared priorities.
- Assign tasks, set deadlines, track delivery, and intervene when needed.
- Mentor team members and foster a hands-on culture.
- Oversee staffing, infrastructure, tooling, and vendor relationships for the US entity.
- Negotiate third-party contracts and manage SLAs.
- Implement scalable processes.
- Build and manage the US budget, track KPIs, and report performance.
Requirements
- 10+ years in financial services, including at least 5 years in a leadership role in crypto, fintech, or banking.
- Deep understanding of the US regulatory environment for financial services and crypto.
- Experience building and managing cross-functional or distributed remote teams.
- Strong backlog management and prioritization skills.
- Established network in the US crypto and fintech ecosystem.
- Excellent negotiation and relationship management skills.
- Self-starter who creates structure independently.
- Comfort with ambiguity, fast pace, and changing priorities.
- Challenger mindset focused on improving the default approach.
