Credit Card Underwriting Manager
Own the comprehensive credit risk framework for a new credit card program, including application quality, automated and manual decisioning, Loan Origination System administration, credit risk strategy, fraud-loss prevention, portfolio monitoring, and regulatory compliance.
Responsibilities
- Establish and own the Credit Risk Policy framework.
- Define and manage underwriting rules and logic within the Loan Origination System.
- Conduct manual reviews of referred applications, including KYC and income verification.
- Manage the Adverse Action process and required credit notices.
- Update the Credit Policy buy box using market trends and performance data.
- Oversee credit model governance, monitoring, recalibration, and independent validation.
- Monitor automated credit-scoring model performance and validity.
- Identify and mitigate emerging fraud trends.
- Coordinate collections reporting and delinquency monitoring.
- Manage Loan Origination System and credit bureau provider relationships.
- Ensure successful Metro2 credit bureau reporting and respond to inquiries and escalations.
- Coordinate vendor selection and integration with cross-functional teams.
- Serve as the credit risk liaison with the Sponsor Bank.
- Support the Head of Credit Card and other team members.
Requirements
- Experience in credit card underwriting and credit risk management.
- Deep understanding of credit scoring models and Adverse Action regulations.
- Experience managing Credit Risk Policy frameworks and buy boxes.
- Strong analytical skills for monitoring model performance, portfolio delinquency, and fraud trends.
- Experience with KYC and credit-quality verification processes.
- Expertise in Regulation B and the Fair Credit Reporting Act.
- Excellent problem-solving and communication skills.
- Experience working with Loan Origination Systems, credit bureaus, KYC providers, and fraud providers.
