Customer Project Manager – Data Center Infrastructure
Own customer-facing project management across design, engineering, procurement, construction, commissioning, and delivery. Coordinate customers, internal teams, and contractors; manage change requests; communicate project impacts and risks; lead meetings; track decisions and commitments; and coordinate project closeout and handoff to Asset Management.
Responsibilities
- Serve as the customer’s primary contact for design, engineering, construction, commissioning, and delivery matters through Ready for Service.
- Integrate customers, internal Hut 8 teams, and the general contractor.
- Maintain knowledge of design development, construction sequencing, RFIs, submittals, schedules, issues, and change orders.
- Manage customer-initiated change requests from intake through technical scoping, impact assessment, approval, implementation, and closeout.
- Evaluate and communicate cost, schedule, design, procurement, commissioning, and contractual impacts of proposed changes.
- Ensure change orders and customer requests follow applicable EPC, contractor, engineering, and lease processes.
- Translate customer requirements into direction for internal and contractor teams.
- Provide regular project updates and lead recurring customer project meetings.
- Maintain action logs, decision records, issue trackers, commitments, approvals, and communications.
- Identify and escalate risks affecting Ready for Service, customer expectations, commercial terms, project economics, or asset operability.
- Coordinate project closeout and formal handoff to Asset Management.
Requirements
- 5 to 10 years of experience in project management, construction management, owner’s representation, or customer delivery.
- Direct experience in data center environments.
- Strong knowledge of EPC and general contractor processes, including design development, RFIs, submittals, procurement, construction sequencing, commissioning, change management, and project closeout.
- Experience assessing and communicating cost, schedule, technical, contractual, and operational impacts.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills and ability to manage senior customer stakeholders.
- Ability to manage multiple decisions, timelines, approvals, and workstreams.
- Proactive risk identification, cross-functional resolution, and accountability management.
- Familiarity with data center leases, EPC agreements, construction contracts, and change orders preferred.
