Cyber Security Operations Analyst / Engineer

About the role

FSA Digital is seeking a hands-on Cyber Security Operations Analyst / Engineer to support cyber security operations, engineering, project delivery, and customer security initiatives. This is a broad generalist role suited to someone who enjoys solving technical problems, working across different security technologies, and helping organisations improve their overall cyber security posture.

Key responsibilities

• Investigate and respond to security alerts, incidents, vulnerabilities, and technical security issues.

• Implement, configure, and improve security technologies and controls.

• Support endpoint, identity, network, cloud, email, vulnerability, and data security.

• Deliver cyber security projects, including deployments, upgrades, remediation, and security improvements.

• Conduct security assessments and identify risks, vulnerabilities, and control gaps.

• Provide practical security recommendations to customers and internal teams.

• Assist with security architecture, technical design, documentation, and operational procedures.

• Support alignment with frameworks such as NIST CSF, ISO 27001, CIS Controls and Essential Eight.

• Work with IT teams, vendors, customers, and other stakeholders to resolve security issues and deliver projects.

• Keep up to date with emerging threats, vulnerabilities, and security technologies.

About you

• Experience in cyber security, infrastructure, networking, cloud, systems administration, or a related technical field.

• Good understanding of security fundamentals across endpoints, networks, identity, cloud, vulnerability management, monitoring, and incident response.

• Strong troubleshooting and analytical skills.

• Ability to learn unfamiliar technologies and investigate technical problems.

• Good written and verbal communication skills.

• Ability to manage operational work and projects independently.

• Experience with technologies such as Microsoft 365/Azure, AWS, EDR/XDR, SIEM, firewalls, vulnerability management, PowerShell/Python, and security frameworks would be advantageous.
  

Work Arrangement

This role offers a hybrid and flexible working arrangement. There may be occasional requirements to attend customer sites, the office, project meetings, or other in-person activities depending on operational and project needs.
