Cybersecurity Vulnerability Management Specialist

Canberra-based vulnerability specialist role requiring current NV1 clearance and hands-on platform experience.

You will work closely with infrastructure, cloud, application and cyber operations teams to improve vulnerability detection, remediation outcomes and overall cyber resilience.

Your new role
An opportunity is available for an experienced Cybersecurity Vulnerability Management Specialist to support and continuously improve an established cyber threat and vulnerability management capability.
You will manage and optimise vulnerability platforms, analyse vulnerability data, investigate emerging threats and work directly with system owners to reduce cyber risk across on-premises, cloud and hybrid environments.

• Managing vulnerability platforms, scanners, dashboards and associated tools
• Conducting vulnerability assessments and analysing scanning results
• Driving remediation activities with system owners and technical teams
• Investigating emerging vulnerabilities, exploits and cyber threats
• Deploying and configuring vulnerability scanning tools
• Improving scanning coverage across complex technology environments
• Developing reports, dashboards, playbooks and operational metrics
• Supporting risk-based vulnerability prioritisation and decision-making
• Ensuring critical patches, mitigations and controls are implemented
• Contributing to cyber resilience and continuous improvement initiatives

What you'll need to succeed

• Hold a current NV1 Security Clearance
• Be based in Canberra, ACT
• Have at least five years' cybersecurity experience
• Demonstrate strong operational vulnerability management experience
• Have experience deploying and configuring vulnerability scanning tools
• Understand the complete vulnerability management lifecycle
• Have experience administering vulnerability management platforms
• Confidently analyse data and provide risk-based recommendations
• Develop dashboards, reports, metrics and operational playbooks
• Communicate technical risks to technical and non-technical stakeholders
• Influence remediation outcomes across multiple technical teams
