The Role:

As a Data Analyst in Key Developments, the main task would be to extract, scrutinize and standardize the essential financial and non-financial data relevant to mergers & acquisition, spin-offs, earning releases, dividends, key happenings, personnel/hierarchy data, which is then provided to our clients in the form of a formulated end product for S&P Global. You will work on various press releases and company documents to collect information & generate meaningful consensus from the collected data. This effort is coupled with real time monitoring of global industry trade publications and websites/news aggregators.

The Team:

We are a truly global firm! With a presence in India and Pakistan, the Key Developments team will be providing high quality, accurate, and timely content to our customers which is essential for their decision-making. Key Developments team covers any significant news which could potentially impact the company's share price, corporate actions for future date, events coverage for publicly traded companies globally. Transforms raw data into usable intelligence and provides data for making decisions with conviction. Operates from India (Hyderabad & Ahmedabad) and Pakistan (Islamabad) locations and works 24/6 to deliver data in timely fashion. Team sifts through press releases/articles, regulatory filings and company websites coupled with extensive data research for qualitative product.

This position is an excellent steppingstone to understand the global market dynamism, that will allow you to gain a comprehensive understanding of the market and enable you to learn the various facets of the assigned industry. Once strong fundamental understanding of the dataset and proficiency at workflows is developed, this role would require working with new talent to develop/enhance your skillset and working on process improvement projects including AI adoption and process automation.

Responsibilities:

  • The main responsibility will be to collect essential intelligence and extract useful data of both financial and non-financial nature tracked by the Key Developments department with high quality.
  • Reviewing feedback on abstracts/tasks to minimize errors and help establish refined procedures and processes to improve accuracy falls under the job description as well.
  • Keeping up-to-date in the knowledge of content sets and building industry knowledge is vital for career growth.
  • Being the primary source of data gathering the analyst would be routing that particular data to the respective departments after extracting useful information.
  • Responding to queries and requests from various client departments to collect data in a timely manner, updating maintaining and running reports to generate useful audits for your department and providing input and ideas for new collection methods and product improvements related to the covered data all fall under your responsibilities.
  • Lastly, troubleshooting problems or issues and providing substantial feedback to co-workers and building. Also, maintaining relationships with contacts from other departments to actively track information on the covered content sets can take you far in this role.

Shift:

This is a rotational shift job. You should be flexible working in all three shifts (morning, evening & night).

What We’re Looking For:

  • BBA/MBA (Finance Specialization) candidates with good academic track record
  • In-depth understanding of financial concepts in all domains such as financial ratios, mergers & acquisitions, dividends, spin-offs, hedging, derivatives, financial documents/statements and financial reporting standards (IFRS & GAAP), etc.
  • Good research and analytical skills
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and oral
  • Certification or knowledge/experience in MS-office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint)
  • Ability to perform under tight deadlines
  • Excellent attention to detail
  • Overall a positive work attitude
