Data Architecture Analyst (5557)
Summary
Data Architecture Analyst supporting the U.S. Army's enterprise business modernization from legacy SAP ERPs to SAP S/4HANA with SAP MDG. Performs enterprise data modeling, logical/physical data mapping, requirements gathering, and master data governance across financial and logistics domains.
We are seeking a Data Architecture Analyst to support the cross-functional digital transformation and modernization of the U.S. Army’s enterprise business systems. Moving beyond legacy SAP ERP environments (including SAP Core Component reaching end-of-life), this initiative consolidates logistics, sustainment, and financial business components across legacy ERPs (GFEBS, GCSS-Army, LMP, AESIP) into a centralized Master Data Management (MDM) / Master Data Governance (SAP MDG) framework in SAP S/4HANA. Working under our contract supporting the Office of the Assistant Secretary of the Army for Financial Management and Comptroller (ASA FM&C), the Data Architecture Analyst will take a broad, enterprise-level view to lead requirements gathering, perform logical and physical data mapping, and drive end-to-end data governance across both financial and logistics domains.
Key Responsibilities
- Enterprise Data Architecture & Governance: Support the design, alignment, and implementation of enterprise data models and Master Data Governance (SAP MDG) frameworks spanning both financial and logistics/sustainment domains.
- Cross-Domain Requirements Gathering: Lead end-to-end data requirements gathering with functional, logistics, and financial stakeholders across ASA (FM&C), USAFMCOM, and Army sustainment organizations, translating complex cross-functional business processes into unified data specifications.
- Logical & Physical Data Mapping: Perform detailed logical and physical data mapping from disparate legacy systems (GFEBS, LMP, GCSS-Army, AESIP Hub) to target SAP S/4HANA structures, ensuring schema consistency, cross-system interoperability, and auditability.
- Data Cleansing & Enterprise Migration: Support data profiling, quality assessments, transformation rules, and migration strategies to transition legacy financial, supply chain, and property data into centralized S/4HANA master data repositories.
- Cross-Functional Collaboration: Partner with solution architects, software engineering teams, and Agile release trains to ensure enterprise data standards, data governance policies, and Defense Business System (DBS) rationalization goals are fully realized.
Required Skills & Experience
- Education: Bachelor’s Degree (BS/BA) from an accredited institution in Computer Science, Information Systems, Data Analytics, Engineering, or a related technical discipline.
- Experience: Minimum of 3 years of professional experience in data architecture, data modeling, data analysis, or technical systems analysis.
- SAP S/4HANA & Data Mapping Expertise: Hands-on experience with logical and physical data mapping, data profiling, and requirements gathering for SAP S/4HANA or enterprise ERP migrations.
- Master Data Governance (MDG): Working knowledge of Master Data Governance (SAP MDG) or Master Data Management (MDM) concepts covering cross-functional master data domains (e.g., material, vendor, customer, financial, and asset master).
- Security Clearance: Active DoD Secret clearance
Desired Skills & Experience
- Experience supporting DoD enterprise business systems across finance or logistics (GFEBS, LMP, GCSS-Army, AESIP).
- Prior experience supporting high-level data governance, analytics, or technology initiatives directly for ASA (FM&C), USAFMCOM, or Army Materiel Command / logistics stakeholders.
- Familiarity with DoD Enterprise Business Architecture (BEA), FM QSMO standards, or Federal data governance frameworks.
- Experience in Agile/SAFe environments utilizing tools like ADO, Jira, Confluence
