Data Engineer, AI Platform

Operate and improve the StarRocks-backed serving layer supporting government-cloud investigations. Tune query performance, build reliable data pipelines, reduce infrastructure operational risk, and use AI-assisted debugging and analysis to resolve production issues in a regulated environment.

Responsibilities

• Tune performance on the StarRocks serving layer.
• Use AI-assisted query profiling to identify and fix slow query patterns.
• Build and harden data pipelines for government-cloud investigations.
• Operate and troubleshoot the serving layer.
• Use AI-assisted debugging and log analysis to triage production issues.
• Resolve production incidents and identify root causes.

Requirements

• U.S. citizenship is required for government-cloud data access.
• Hands-on experience operating distributed OLAP or serving-layer systems such as StarRocks, Trino, or ClickHouse.
• Experience with query tuning and performance optimization at scale.
• Experience owning data-pipeline reliability and incident response.
• Experience using AI tools for debugging, code review, and documentation.
• Ability to independently operate and troubleshoot production infrastructure.
• Ability to take on-call responsibility with minimal oversight.
