Key responsibilities will include:
- Designing, developing and maintaining data pipelines and workflows using Microsoft Fabric, including Data Factory, Notebooks, Lakehouse and Warehouse components.
- Migrating existing on-premise and cloud-based data solutions into modern Fabric architectures.
- Developing and optimising data models to support analytics, reporting and business insight.
- Integrating data from multiple business systems, including finance, CRM and operational platforms.
- Building robust ELT/ETL processes that deliver high levels of data quality, consistency and performance.
- Collaborating with technical and non-technical stakeholders to translate business requirements into scalable solutions.
- Applying best practice in data governance, security and compliance within a regulated environment.
- Supporting continuous improvement of the firm's data platform, standards and engineering practices.
- Exploring new Microsoft Fabric capabilities and identifying opportunities to enhance the data estate.
Essential Experience
- Commercial experience working as a Data Engineer.
- Hands-on experience with Microsoft Fabric, including Data Factory, Lakehouse, Warehouse, Notebooks and Power BI integration.
- Strong SQL skills and experience working with both relational and analytical data models.
- Experience building and maintaining ETL/ELT data pipelines.
- Knowledge of Azure data services and cloud-based data architectures.
- Understanding of data governance, security and data quality best practice.
- Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
- The ability to communicate effectively with both technical and business stakeholders.
Desirable Experience
- Python or PySpark development within Microsoft Fabric.
- CI/CD practices for data engineering and data product delivery.
- Experience within legal services or another professional services environment.
- Exposure to systems such as Intapp, Elite 3E or VisualFiles.
- Knowledge of GDPR and data privacy requirements.
