Job Summary
Lead the research and development of Xiaomi’s data platform, designing and delivering scalable, high-performance data systems that empower analytics and data science teams to drive intelligent operations.
Responsibilities
- Design and deliver large-scale data platforms for Xiaomi Internet businesses, ensuring end-to-end system functionality and scalability
- Build infrastructure and tools to optimize extraction, transformation, and loading of data from diverse sources with high throughput and fault tolerance
- Develop and implement Data as a Service (DaaS) solutions to support analytics and data science teams in agile decision-making
- Identify and implement process improvements by automating manual tasks, optimizing data delivery, and redesigning infrastructure for scalability
- Lead the design and evolution of data warehouse layering strategies (ODS/DWD/DWS/ADS) and establish modeling standards and best practices
- Evaluate and integrate emerging big data technologies (e.g., Iceberg, Flink, Doris) to enhance pipeline performance, reduce costs, and improve data freshness
- Define and enforce data governance policies, including data quality standards, lineage tracking, access control, and metadata management
- Collaborate with product, engineering, and business intelligence teams to translate complex business requirements into scalable data architectures
- Mentor junior engineers through code reviews, technical guidance, and knowledge sharing to strengthen team capabilities
- Drive cross-team technical alignment on the data platform roadmap, participate in architecture reviews, and contribute to long-term infrastructure planning
Required competencies and certifications
- Strong fundamentals in computer science, including algorithms and data structures, supported by a degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Information Technology, or related fields
- Proficient in at least one programming language such as C++, Go, Java, or Python, with experience in Linux shell development
- Solid understanding of system performance and scaling principles
- Effective communication and collaboration skills within a team environment
