Our Integrated Maintenance and Repair Water Recycling Alliance is vital for servicing and enhancing our sewer network, repairing bursts, building intelligence and reducing risk for our customers and the environment.

We are looking for a proactive and self-motivated individual, excited to make continual improvements in how we deliver our services. In this role, you will help the Alliance Senior leadership through systems, procurement information management, and data analysis, leading a team to provide the management information we need to effectively plan, monitor, and control our outputs.

What you will be doing as our Data and Systems Manager

This role will be responsible for developing and leading a high-performing centralised performance data team. A key output of this role will be the management of all systems and supporting those using them, to oversee the application of AWS procurement practices and compliance for the Alliance, and to develop and implement a robust standardised business reporting and data capture processes, and to support all partners to increase and build on the effectiveness of delivery across the IMR Water Recycling Alliance.

The Data and Systems Manager will work with a wide variety of stakeholders and systems across Anglian Water business functions, key Alliance leadership, Water Recycling Operations and other supporting functions to identify and prioritise data requirements.

Key Responsibilities

  • Challenge current structure, processes and activities to identify opportunity for improvement and optimisation.

  • Working alongside Alliance senior leadership and to the Commercial Performance Manager to design, implement and maintain a best-for-task analytics and reporting structure across all 5 Alliance partners

  • Accountable for the function of master data cross the IMR WR Alliance, providing regulatory, compliance, operational and commercial insights and data capture processes.

  • Ensure that the data and reporting procedures comply with GDPR legislation.

  • Ensure that we are capturing and sharing accurate and complete data with the Cost Capture system (C55).

  • Manage the outputs of the alliance systems to give meaningful insights and reports to create clear improvement activities with our operational teams.

  • Provide tailored performance-focused reports to our different forums and steering groups to drive a data-driven approach to the way those forums operate.

  • Work across the organisation, ensuring a collaborative approach to business decisions, making good judgements that align with our strategic aims.

Key Skills & Behaviours

  • Excellent planning, prioritisation, and delivery focus – working to agile or waterfall planning techniques.

  • Bachelor’s degree (BSc, BA(Business) or BEng) or an equivalent experience to ensure a solid technical competence

  • Proven leadership of data migration on major ERP / SAP Programmes

  • Recognised project/programme management qualification (PRINCE2/APM)

  • Provide leadership on business case formulation to support and enable strategic change

  • Excellent planning, prioritisation, and delivery focus – working to agile or waterfall planning techniques

  • Strong presentation skills and able to translate and communicate complex information to various audiences

  • Strong coaching and team development capability
