DeFi Market Surveillance Analyst Global Intelligence and Investigations
Monitor and investigate market integrity risks across on-chain activity and order-book behavior, triage alerts, trace wallets and funding flows, analyze trading activity, develop detection signals, document cases, and handle law enforcement and regulatory requests.
Responsibilities
- Triage incoming alerts and referrals against investigation thresholds
- Trace flagged wallets across chains, bridges, and funding flows
- Review order-book and execution data for manipulation and coordinated activity
- Investigate insider trading, oracle manipulation, automated-trading abuse, sanctions exposure, and illicit-finance flows
- Write queries and build lightweight analysis
- Develop new detection signals
- Document matters with sourced, audit-ready findings
- Handle law enforcement and regulatory requests
Requirements
- 3+ years in trade surveillance, on-chain investigations, blockchain analytics, financial crime investigation, or exchange operations
- Hands-on wallet tracing across blockchains, bridges, mixers, and funding flows
- Knowledge of order-book manipulation typologies including spoofing, layering, wash trading, and coordinated multi-account activity
- Proficiency in SQL or a comparable query language
- Strong written communication for legal and regulatory case documentation
- Familiarity with prediction markets and crypto-native platforms
- Experience with Chainalysis, TRM Labs, or Elliptic is a plus
- Experience with automated trade-surveillance platforms such as Nasdaq SMARTS is a plus
- Python or similar scripting experience is a plus
