About the Role
As a PCB Layout Engineer, you will be responsible for PCB placement, routing, and design implementation based on schematics and engineering requirements. You will work closely with R&D, Test, and Manufacturing teams to develop reliable and manufacturable PCB designs from concept through fabrication and production.
Key Responsibilities
Execute PCB component placement, routing, and design checks based on schematics, layout guidelines, and engineering requirements
Develop and modify multi-layer and high-density PCB layouts, including high-speed and fine-pitch designs
Work closely with Hardware, Mechanical, and Test Engineers on early-stage PCB planning, component placement, routing strategy, and design implementation
Support PCB design from concept, fabrication, and SMT assembly through production, ensuring designs meet DFM/DFA/DFT requirements
Create and maintain component, footprint, and PCB libraries to ensure accurate and standardized design data
Participate in design reviews and perform layout checks to identify potential signal integrity, power integrity, manufacturability, and design rule issues
Prepare and maintain PCB design documentation, including Gerber files, fabrication/assembly drawings, BOMs, and engineering change documentation
Follow up on PCB fabrication and SMT assembly with suppliers, and support the resolution of manufacturing, assembly, and manufacturability issues
Maintain proper design revision control and support engineering changes throughout the product development cycle
Manage assigned PCB design activities across multiple projects and ensure deliverables are completed according to project schedules
About You
Bachelor's degree or above in Electrical Engineering, Electronics Engineering, or a related discipline
3–5 years of relevant experience in PCB layout/design; candidates with strong academic or project experience may also be considered
Proficient in at least one PCB design tool such as Altium Designer, Cadence Allegro, or PADS; Altium experience is preferred
Hands-on experience with multi-layer PCB placement and routing, preferably 6-layer or higher
Experience with high-density PCB layout and fine-pitch BGA routing; experience with 0.4 mm pitch BGA is an advantage
Basic understanding of Signal Integrity (SI), Power Integrity (PI), EMC/EMI, and PCB design rules
Good understanding of PCB fabrication, SMT assembly, and DFM/DFA/DFT principles
Experience with HDI, high-speed, RF, ATE load boards, probe cards, or test boards will be an added advantage
Strong attention to detail with good problem-solving and analytical skills
Able to work effectively with cross-functional teams, PCB suppliers, and manufacturing partners
Good communication skills and ability to manage multiple tasks within project timelines
Experience with Altium Signal Integrity tools or Keysight Power Analyzer is a plus
