Developer Relations Manager
Lead technical education, create practical developer content, build credibility in developer communities, gather developer intelligence, and improve documentation for LLMs and AI coding assistants.
Responsibilities
- Own Ably's technical education programme
- Write quickstarts and guides for real AI problems
- Build a credible presence in relevant developer communities
- Create playbooks and reduce friction for engineers and product people to participate in communities
- Aggregate developer feedback, patterns, objections, and market signals
- Share actionable developer intelligence with DevEx, Product, AI Transport engineering, sales, and marketing
- Improve documentation quality with DevEx and AI Transport engineering
- Identify documentation gaps surfaced by AI coding assistants
- Ensure technical content is LLM-parseable, accurate, and structured for developer use
Requirements
- Technical background with the ability to write code against an API, read technical architecture, and discuss technical topics with engineering teams
- Track record of technical writing that developers read and share
- Experience building or growing a developer community
- Understanding of how developers evaluate and adopt new tools, including AI-assisted evaluation
- A defensible public point of view on realtime infrastructure, AI development patterns, or developer experience
- Familiarity with Temporal and Vercel orchestration frameworks
- Experience using AI for research, writing, content structuring, and experimentation
- Ability to work across marketing, product, and engineering
