DevOps Team Lead

Own and operate the AWS cloud platform, architecting and maintaining infrastructure and CI/CD pipelines. Automate deployments, harden security, manage backups and disaster recovery, tune RDS databases, maintain monitoring and alerting, lead a small DevOps team, provide technical direction, handle on-call incident response, and optimize cost, performance, and reliability.

Responsibilities

• Design, implement, and maintain secure, highly available AWS infrastructure.
• Build and manage Infrastructure as Code using Terraform or CloudFormation.
• Own networking, VPCs, security groups, load balancers, and inter-service communication.
• Manage CDN, DNS, and secure network access using Cloudflare, WARP, and Tailscale.
• Architect business continuity and disaster recovery solutions.
• Optimize AWS costs through right-sizing, reserved instances, and lifecycle management.
• Own and improve CI/CD pipelines using Bitbucket Pipelines.
• Develop automation scripts using Bash, Python, or Node.js.
• Manage container orchestration with Docker, ECS, Portainer, and Coolify.
• Enforce security, IAM, secrets management, encryption, and automated security scanning.
• Manage RDS database performance, backups, and recovery.
• Perform operating-system administration, patching, and system hardening.
• Design monitoring and observability using CloudWatch, Prometheus, and Grafana.
• Define SLAs and SLOs, manage incident response, and conduct post-incident reviews.
• Lead the DevOps team, provide technical direction, and conduct code reviews.
• Maintain infrastructure documentation, runbooks, and architectural decision records.

Requirements

• 8+ years in DevOps roles.
• Deep hands-on AWS experience with EC2, ECS, RDS, VPC, IAM, CloudWatch, Lambda, S3, and ALB/NLB.
• Production experience with Terraform or CloudFormation.
• Strong Docker and container-management experience, including ECS, Portainer, or Coolify.
• Expertise building and optimizing CI/CD pipelines.
• Proficiency in Bash, Python, and/or Node.js.
• Strong knowledge of TCP/IP, DNS, VPNs, firewalls, CDN, Cloudflare, Tailscale, and WARP.
• RDS PostgreSQL performance-tuning and backup/recovery experience.
• Professional-level written and verbal English communication.
• Proficiency with AI-assisted coding tools such as Claude Code, Cursor, or GitHub Copilot.
• Preferred AWS certifications.
• Preferred regulated-industry experience in fintech, blockchain, digital assets, or financial services.
• Preferred bachelor’s degree in computer science, engineering, or a related field, or equivalent experience.
