Direct Support Professional - Owego, NY

Advocates is seeking a Mentor (DSP/1:1 support staff) to support a single mother with an intellectual disability. She is looking for a Mentor to assist her with working on her goals both at home and in her community.

Goals include:
• Recreational activities- participating in hobbies, clubs, or classes of interest
• Social skills - making community connections, exploring community resources, facilitating appropriate interactions
• Independent living skills - grocery shopping, cooking, keeping home neat/orderly, personal care tasks
• Personal goals- exploring interests, prioritizing goals

Seeking a DSP who is reliable, enthusiastic, creative, and active. Related experience working with individuals with disabilities preferred but not required. Please respond with resume or summary of experience.

Candidate must possess a keen sense of attention to detail, especially when electronically logging each day's time, mileage, and service documentation. DSP must have a valid email address.

Hours and days of work

Thursdays - Saturdays (9am-3pm). Occasional Sundays

Pay rate: $36 per hour when providing direct support. The hourly rate for indirect/training is $16.00 per hour.

Location: Owego, NY
