Job description
Develop and implement comprehensive safety and security strategies, policies, and procedures.
Lead physical security operations, including access control, surveillance systems, security staffing, and incident response.
Conduct risk assessments and implement measures to mitigate operational, physical, and security risks.
Ensure compliance with local, national, and international safety and security regulations.
Develop and maintain emergency response, business continuity, and crisis management plans.
Lead investigations into accidents, incidents, security breaches, and workplace violence, ensuring corrective actions are implemented.
Oversee fire safety programs, emergency evacuation procedures, and life safety systems.
Manage security technologies, including CCTV, intrusion detection systems, visitor management, and access control systems.
Coordinate with law enforcement, emergency services, regulatory agencies, and external security providers.
Develop and manage departmental budgets, contracts, and procurement of safety and security equipment and services.
Establish key performance indicators (KPIs) and regularly report on safety and security performance to executive leadership.
Lead safety committees and conduct regular audits, inspections, and compliance reviews.
Develop and deliver safety and security training programs for employees and contractors.
Promote a proactive safety culture through awareness campaigns and continuous improvement initiatives.
Supervise, mentor, and evaluate safety and security personnel.
Qualifications
- Certified Protection Professional (CPP)
- Certified Safety Professional (CSP)
- Occupational Health and Safety certifications (e.g., NEBOSH, IOSH)
- Certified Business Continuity Professional (CBCP)
- First Aid/CPR and Incident Command System (ICS) training
Additional information
- Experience is an asset
- Prior experience working with Opera or a related system
- Strong interpersonal and problem solving abilities
- Fluency in English, additional languages are a plus
