Director, Technical Accounting & Financial Reporting
Lead technical accounting and financial reporting activities, provide authoritative U.S. GAAP guidance, manage external auditors, own internal controls, support M&A accounting, implement reporting tools, and represent accounting in strategic initiatives.
Responsibilities
- Provide technical accounting guidance across company activities
- Lead and develop accounting staff
- Own internal and external financial reporting and disclosures
- Lead accounting policy initiatives and standards implementation
- Support strategic initiatives, product launches, and new revenue models
- Own internal controls over financial reporting and remediate control gaps
- Participate in audit committee meetings
- Manage external auditors
- Support M&A due diligence and purchase accounting
- Implement financial statement reporting tools such as Workiva
- Represent accounting in finance transformation and automation projects
Requirements
- 15+ years of progressive accounting experience, including people management
- Extensive U.S. GAAP, IFRS, and SEC reporting knowledge
- Expertise in technical accounting and public company readiness
- Exceptional technical accounting memo writing skills
- Strong leadership and cross-functional communication abilities
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance
- CPA or equivalent required
- M&A due diligence and purchase accounting experience
- Multinational and multi-currency accounting experience
- Familiarity with SOX compliance
- ERP experience such as NetSuite
- Basic SQL and analytics tools experience
