Draughtsman
Responsibilities
- Prepare and develop detailed Mechanical & Electrical (M&E) drawings using AutoCAD and other relevant drafting software.
- Produce shop drawings, coordination drawings, installation drawings, as-built drawings and detailed drawings based on project requirements.
- Prepare drawings for M&E systems including HVAC, ACMV, piping, ducting, electrical, plumbing and fire protection systems, where applicable.
- Interpret architectural, structural and M&E drawings, specifications and technical requirements.
- Coordinate M&E drawings with architectural and structural drawings to identify and resolve clashes or discrepancies.
- Work closely with Project Managers, Engineers, Site Supervisors and subcontractors to ensure drawings are accurate and practical for site installation.
- Revise and update drawings according to site conditions, consultant comments and project changes.
- Conduct site measurements and verification when required to ensure drawings reflect actual site conditions.
- Prepare as-built drawings upon completion of installation works.
- Maintain proper drawing registers, revision records and document control.
- Assist engineers in preparing technical submissions, material submissions and other project documentation.
- Ensure drawings comply with project specifications, client requirements and applicable Singapore codes and standards.
- Attend coordination meetings with clients, consultants, subcontractors and other project stakeholders when required.
- Perform other drafting and project-related duties assigned by the Project Manager or Engineer.
Requirements
- Diploma / NITEC / Higher NITEC in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Building Services, M&E Engineering or a related discipline.
- Relevant experience as an M&E Draughtsman / CAD Drafter in the construction or engineering industry.
- Proficient in AutoCAD; knowledge of Revit/BIMwill be an advantage.
- Good understanding of M&E drawings,symbols, specifications and construction details.
- Familiar with M&E coordination and preparation of shop and as-built drawings.
- Able to read and interpret architectural, structural and engineering drawings.
- Good attention to detail and able to work within project deadlines.
- Able to work independently as well as coordinate effectively with engineers and site teams.
- Experience in cleanroom, semiconductor, industrial or process plant projects will be an advantage.
- Candidates with experience in HVAC/ACMV, ducting and piping systems will be preferred.
- Proficient in both English and Mandarin (spoken and written) to communicate effectively with Mandarin-speaking clients, consultants, suppliers, and other stakeholders.
