Engineering Manager, Data
Own and operate platforms powering large-scale intelligence data products, from ingestion and processing through serving and delivery. Design foundational AI architectures, accelerate model and data-product delivery, ensure reliable 24/7 operation, and lead teams responsible for data infrastructure and product-facing delivery.
Responsibilities
- Own and operate a petabyte-scale data platform supporting batch processing, real-time workloads, and 24/7 APIs
- Design and build foundational AI architecture for blockchain intelligence infrastructure
- Improve the speed and reduce overhead of delivering models and data products to customers
- Lead, hire, and mentor two sub-teams spanning data infrastructure through product-facing delivery
- Set technical direction and make architecture, tooling, and platform investment decisions
- Create internal platforms and workflows that accelerate data scientist productivity
- Review architectures, debug data pipelines, and make system design decisions
Requirements
- 8+ years of hands-on data or engineering experience with 4+ years of direct people management
- Player-coach mindset with technical involvement and team-strategy leadership
- Ownership of production systems at scale, such as customer-facing data products, APIs, or decisioning engines
- Strong Python and SQL skills
- Experience with BigQuery, Airflow, data lake architectures, and serving layers
- Active daily use of AI tools to accelerate development and challenge assumptions
- Strong judgment in technical bets and platform investments
