Engineering Manager
Lead and coach engineers, foster a healthy collaborative environment, drive planning and execution across complex technical workstreams, translate architectural decisions into actionable plans, collaborate with technical leaders to unblock delivery, and support hiring and ongoing development.
Responsibilities
- Lead, coach, and support engineers within the Runtime function.
- Create a healthy, high-trust team environment focused on people management and team care.
- Drive planning, prioritisation, and execution across complex technical workstreams.
- Negotiate timelines and delivery trade-offs with stakeholders.
- Translate architecture discussions into executable plans.
- Partner with technical leaders to unblock delivery.
- Improve team communication, ways of working, and delivery predictability.
- Support hiring, onboarding, and ongoing development of engineers.
Requirements
- Experience leading engineering or highly technical teams as an Engineering Manager or Technical Project Manager.
- Strong people management skills and a track record of building healthy teams.
- Excellent project and delivery management skills, including planning, dependency management, and stakeholder communication.
- Sufficient technical depth to understand complex system architecture.
- Comfort focusing on leadership and delivery rather than hands-on coding.
- Strong judgement balancing technical complexity, team wellbeing, and delivery outcomes.
- Experience working with distributed teams, ideally across Europe or closely aligned European time zones.
- Experience in technical or infrastructure-heavy environments is a plus.
