Engineering Manager - Research Engineering

Lead people and manage delivery across a Research Engineering team, owning roadmaps, developing engineers, planning hiring and resources, managing culture and performance, coordinating with Engineering, Trading, and Quant teams, managing risks and dependencies, and improving delivery processes.

Responsibilities

• Own the roadmap and manage priorities, planning, and sequencing.
• Develop engineers through career planning, coaching, promotions, and performance management.
• Lead hiring, headcount planning, and resource allocation.
• Manage team culture, morale, productivity, and conflict.
• Hold regular one-on-ones and provide timely feedback.
• Translate technical and business requirements into delivery plans.
• Liaise between Engineering, Trading, and Quant teams.
• Track delivery progress and manage risks and scope trade-offs.
• Improve delivery processes and team velocity.
• Align team work with organisational goals and timelines.

• Technical or research background.
• Experience managing applied researchers and software engineers.
• Applied research delivery experience.

• Based in Amsterdam or willing to relocate.
