Food and Beverage Manager

Job description:

The Food and Beverage Manager is responsible to administer the successful planning, organization, and coordination of all food and beverage activities, while providing five-star service. He/She will lead the food and beverage team and ensure quality, efficiency, compliance and profitability.

Adherence to established policies, standards and procedures are required in order to achieve high levels of customer satisfaction, quality service, compliance with policies and procedures and local regulations while meeting/exceeding financial goals. He/she will lead a team of professionals to a common goal for the resident, owners and brand awareness.

Duties and Responsibilities

• Plan and supervise daily F&B operations and staff, including dining areas, lounges, and special event spaces.
• Ensure compliance to health, safety, and sanitation standards.
• Ensure adherence to quality expectations and luxury service standards; identify, and implement new ways to increase organizational quality.
• Develop and manage departmental forecasting, and budgeting.
• Control costs and minimize waste while maintaining premium quality.
• Collaborate with chefs and bartenders to design appealing menus that align with customer preferences and trends.
• Conduct market research to understand competitive pricing and product offerings.
• Lead efforts in interviewing, and hiring employees; conduct performance appraisals, coach and counsel, progressive corrective action, and recommend termination when appropriate.
• Resolve employee problems, provide open communication and ongoing feedback.
• Train new employees and provide ongoing coaching to existing employees to enhance performance.
• Create employee schedules to ensure smooth operations and adequate coverage.
• Manage inventory and stock levels, placing orders as needed to avoid shortages or wastage.
• Coordinate catering and beverage services for resident events such as holiday parties, private dinners, and community gatherings.
• Work with vendors and in-house teams to execute events flawlessly.
• Build relationships with residents to understand their preferences
• Handle resident complaints and resolve issues promptly and professionally.
• Gather feedback from residents to improve service quality.
• Track and approve labor hours, time clock entries and vacation and personal time for payroll

• Monitor and control Point of Sales Systems in accordance with resident checks and Condominium reports.
• Attend or lead meetings such as daily huddles, shift and department meetings or leadership and other meetings as necessary.
• Identify the employee developmental needs and coach, mentor, or provide ongoing training and development to improve their knowledge or skills.
• Promote and maintain good employee relations between kitchen, and dining room teams.
• Assist in the supervision of kitchen staff in absence of Chef as needed.
• Implement procedures to increase resident and colleague satisfaction.
• Conduct routine inspections to ensure compliance.
• Work closely with property management and other departments to align food and beverage services with the overall vision of the condominium.
• Perform any other reasonable duties as required by management

Required Experience and Education:

• High school diploma required; a degree or certification in hospitality management is preferred.
• 3 -5 years of experience in a luxury hotel, club, or condominium environment and/or fine dining restaurant.
• Proven experience in F&B management or a similar role.

• Outstanding and professional resident services skills.
• Strong leadership and communication skills with the ability to motivate others.
• Expertise in food and beverage operations, including wine and spirits knowledge.
• Familiarity with budgeting, inventory management and scheduling.
• Proficiency with point-of-sale (POS) systems and basic office software.
• Effective in providing exceptional customer service.
• Creativity and a passion for the food and beverage industry.
• Strong attention to detail and ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment.
• Effective at listening to, understanding, and clarifying the concerns and issues raised by residents and guests.
• Effective at handling problems in the workplace including anticipating, preventing, identifying, and solving problems.
• Food handling certificate is required.
• TIPS (Training for Intervention Procedures) certificate required.
• Knowledge of food handling policies and procedures, including storage/handling techniques, proper chemical handling, and sanitation standards.

Pay: $60,000.00 - $70,000.00 per year
