Forward Deployed Engineer
This hybrid role is split between client-facing technical leadership and core platform engineering. You will advise clients and sales teams, own integrations and demos, translate customer needs into product roadmap initiatives, and build scalable platform solutions for digital asset compliance.
Responsibilities
- Act as a trusted technical advisor to strategic clients.
- Provide technical guidance during pre-sales to help design solutions and close deals.
- Develop and maintain demos and technical documentation for client engagements.
- Own client integration processes across backend data pipelines and frontend applications.
- Lead post-sales technical integrations and build solutions and proofs of concept.
- Translate field-level customer challenges into actionable product roadmap initiatives.
- Build scalable platform solutions, new features, and integration capabilities.
- Write well-designed, tested, readable, and maintainable code.
- Partner with designers, product managers, sales, and engineers.
- Participate in code reviews to maintain quality and share knowledge.
Requirements
- Fluent English and native fluency in a main European language; additional European languages preferred.
- 5+ years of professional programming experience building cloud applications and services.
- Expertise building, consuming, and documenting scalable APIs and services.
- Strong full-stack experience across modern frontends and backend distributed systems.
- Experience in client-facing roles with technical teams and business stakeholders.
- Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
- Ability to manage priorities and work autonomously in a fast-paced environment.
- Passion for code quality, continuous delivery, automated testing, and incident response.
- Bachelor's degree in a relevant technical field or equivalent practical experience.
- Strong TypeScript, NodeJS, and React skills; Python is a plus.
- Experience with cloud storage solutions and AWS infrastructure.
- Experience with DataDog and GitHub CI/CD.
- Big data experience with Spark, Iceberg, Hive, Kafka, or Presto is a plus.
- Familiarity with Web3 and experience using AI tools to accelerate development.
- Ability to work with clients, collaborate in agile teams, mentor others, travel internationally, and maintain flexible hours across global time zones.
- Must be based in Madrid and legally authorized to work in Spain or another European Union country without company-sponsored visa support.
