Forward Deployed Engineer - US National Security
This generalist engineering role works directly with national-security customers, deploying TRM's platform in cloud and air-gapped environments, building integrations and prototypes, and delivering across application code, Kubernetes, infrastructure, databases, and data flows.
Responsibilities
- Deploy, integrate, and operate the platform inside cloud and air-gapped customer environments
- Work directly with mission users to translate needs into software
- Build integrations, data pipelines, and capability prototypes
- Deliver application code, Kubernetes workloads, cloud infrastructure, databases, and data flows
- Act as the technical bridge between customers and product and engineering teams
- Diagnose and resolve problems in constrained environments
- Lead incident channels or virtual war rooms for critical issues
- Land fixes and share lessons with internal and customer stakeholders
- Maintain current documentation in Notion and work tracking in Linear
- Flag milestone threats within 24 hours
Requirements
- Strong programming ability in Python and/or Node.js/TypeScript
- Fluency developing with AI, coding agents, and LLM tooling
- Hands-on Kubernetes experience deploying and debugging workloads
- Production AWS experience building environments
- Working fluency with relational databases such as PostgreSQL
- Experience with schema design, query tuning, and safe data movement
- Ability to deliver outside a primary specialty
- Outstanding written and verbal communication
- Infrastructure as code experience with Terraform
- GitOps experience with Argo CD
- Data engineering at scale experience
- Distributed systems design and debugging experience
- Experience building machine learning or agentic systems
- Deep Linux/Unix and networking experience
- Experience delivering inside classified or regulated government environments
