SUMMARY

The Campaign Manager reports directly to the Chief Fund Development and Strategy Officer (CFDSO) as part of a team. Working closely with the CFDSO, as well as TNDC’s CEO, Board, and a volunteer Campaign Committee, the Campaign Manager will contribute to the department’s revenue goals and is responsible for managing and driving a multi-year comprehensive fundraising campaign for TNDC. This role coordinates campaign logistics, manages donor data, develops and support fundraising communications, tracks campaign performance, and helps ensure successful execution of annual and special fundraising initiatives.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES

Campaign Strategy and Management

  • Manage all elements of a multi-year fundraising campaign designed to secure support from individuals, foundations, corporations, and local, state, and federal government agencies.

  • Serve as a key strategic partner in campaign planning, implementation, and evaluation.

  • Works closely with the CFDSO to create campaign goals, fundraising strategies, budgets, timelines, and performance metrics.

  • Coordinate campaign activities, milestones, and deliverables to ensure achievement of fundraising objectives.

  • Monitor campaign progress and recommend strategic adjustments to maximize results.

  • Prepare campaign reports, fundraising forecasts, and progress updates for senior leadership and board committees.

  • Identify opportunities to expand campaign participation, increase donor engagement, and strengthen philanthropic revenue streams.

  • Supervisor Responsibility: Exercises independent judgment in the interest of the Employer to supervise and direct staff, including hiring, scheduling, assigning and prioritizing work, evaluating performance, and effectively recommending personnel actions such as salary increases, promotions, transfers, disciplinary action, demotions, and termination decisions.

Major Gifts and Donor Portfolio Management

  • Develop, manage, and actively cultivate a portfolio of donors and prospects capable of giving a set amount or more annually.

  • Create and implement individualized cultivation, solicitation, stewardship, and upgrade strategies for assigned donors.

  • Conduct donor visits, virtual meetings, presentations, and ongoing engagement activities.

  • Collaborate with the CEO and CFSDO to identify, qualify, cultivate, solicit, and steward major gift prospects.

  • Track donor movement through the fundraising pipeline and ensure timely follow-up on all donor interactions.

  • Develop donor engagement plans designed to increase retention, recurring giving, and philanthropic investment.

Planned Giving and Legacy Giving Program Management

  • Partner with the CEO, CFSDO, and external consultants to develop and maintain an organization-wide planned giving program.

  • Establish planned giving policies, procedures, and donor engagement strategies.

  • Develop legacy giving marketing materials and donor communications.

  • Build and maintain a pipeline of planned giving prospects.

  • Educate donors and prospects regarding planned giving opportunities and charitable gift options.

  • Track planned giving commitments and stewardship activities.

Donor Stewardship and Engagement

  • Design, implement, and oversee a comprehensive donor stewardship program that provides meaningful recognition, engagement, and communication for donors at all giving levels.

  • Ensure timely and accurate donor acknowledgments, thank-you communications, impact reports, and recognition activities.

  • Develop donor retention strategies and stewardship plans that strengthen long-term donor relationships.

  • Coordinate donor appreciation events, site visits, and engagement opportunities.

  • Maintain ongoing communication with donors to demonstrate organizational impact and accountability.

Executive and Leadership Support

  • Conduct donor and prospect research to create solicitation strategies and relationship development.

  • Prepare donor profiles, briefing materials, solicitation plans, proposals, and meeting strategies.

  • Coordinate follow-up activities, documentation, and next steps resulting from donor meetings.

  • Draft donor correspondence, proposals, reports, and stewardship communications.

Prospect Research and Development

  • Develop and execute data-driven strategies to identify, qualify, and prioritize fundraising prospects.

  • Utilize donor databases, wealth screening tools, public information, and organizational resources to support prospect development.

  • Analyze giving trends and donor behavior to identify opportunities for increased philanthropic support.

  • Maintain accurate prospect ratings and donor engagement records.

Fundraising Events and Community Engagement

  • Support planning and execution of annual fundraising events and special campaign activities.

  • Ensure fundraising events are leveraged for donor identification, cultivation, stewardship, and solicitation opportunities.

  • Coordinate logistics, registration, sponsorship fulfillment, volunteer support, and event communications.

  • Support smaller cultivation events, donor salons, project openings, community gatherings, and CEO-centered engagement opportunities.

  • Participate in event-day operations and post-event follow-up activities.

  • Track event attendance, sponsorship commitments, and donor engagement outcomes.

Communications and Campaign Marketing

  • Partner with the Director of Communications to develop and execute campaign communications strategies.

  • Support the creation of fundraising appeals, donor stories, impact reports, newsletters, website content, and social media campaigns.

  • Ensure campaign messaging aligns with organizational priorities and fundraising objectives.

  • Assist in developing donor-centered storytelling that communicates impact and inspires philanthropic support.

  • Review campaign materials to ensure consistency, accuracy, and brand alignment.

Data Management, Reporting, and Analytics

  • Maintain accurate donor, prospect, campaign, and fundraising records in Raiser's Edge and/or other related systems.

  • Record donor interactions, proposals, pledges, commitments, grants, gifts, and stewardship activities.

  • Generate reports related to campaign performance, donor engagement, portfolio activity, and fundraising outcomes.

  • Analyze fundraising data and key performance metrics to support strategic decision-making.

  • Ensure data integrity, confidentiality, and compliance with organizational standards.

Budget Administration and Vendor Management

  • Monitor campaign budgets, expenses, and revenue projections.

  • Process invoices, contracts, purchase requests, and vendor payments related to campaign activities.

  • Track expenditures to ensure alignment with approved budgets.

  • Work with consultants, vendors, printers, event providers, and other external partners as needed.

Cross-Functional Collaboration and Leadership

  • Collaborate with program, finance, communications, and executive leadership teams to align fundraising activities with organizational priorities.

  • Support fundraising committees, campaign cabinets, board members, and volunteers engaged in campaign activities.

  • Train and assist staff, volunteers, and board members on donor engagement and fundraising best practices.

  • Represent the organization at community events, networking opportunities, and donor meetings.

  • Foster a culture of philanthropy throughout the organization.

Compliance and Accountability

  • Ensure fundraising activities comply with organizational policies, ethical fundraising standards, and applicable federal, state, and local regulations.

  • Maintain confidentiality of donor and organizational information.

  • Support audit, reporting, and recordkeeping requirements related to fundraising activities.

Perform other duties and special projects as assigned.
