FX Confirmations & Settlements Manager

State Street seeks an experienced manager for its Markets Operations Foreign Exchange Confirmations & Settlements team. The role oversees trade confirmation and settlement, controls, payments, securities, vendors, audits, regulatory changes, and technology transformation.

Responsibilities

• Manage end-to-end FX confirmation and settlement processes within market deadlines and internal SLAs.
• Coordinate with front-office, compliance, finance, claims, IT, risk, and technology teams.
• Lead transformation toward a standardized operating model and new technology infrastructure.
• Participate in ISO 20022, TD+1, and other bank-wide initiatives.
• Deliver cash payments and securities accurately while minimizing operating losses.
• Strengthen risk and control culture across global teams.
• Partner with Technology to deliver workflow solutions and increase straight-through processing.
• Support change-the-bank and run-the-bank projects, including testing and production monitoring.
• Oversee vendors and ensure adherence to regulatory and market changes.
• Support resilience, control assurance, audits, operational risk, and compliance policies.

Requirements

• Extensive knowledge of securities, settlements, claims, rates, treasury products, and related financial attributes.
• Front-to-back knowledge of FX confirmations, settlements, systems, markets, and instruments.
• Hands-on experience managing Interbank, Corporate, CLS, and CLS_NET settlements.
• Working knowledge of settlement and payment departments and the payment lifecycle.
• Familiarity with ION, GTSS, Bloomberg, FXALL, SWIFT, and Misys.
• Knowledge of global markets, custody, cash management, and payment systems.
• 10+ years of experience in the financial services industry.
• NCFM or CISI certification.
• Knowledge of macros, SQL, and Microsoft Access database queries.
• Finance or commerce-related degree preferred.
• Strong risk mitigation, problem-solving, critical-thinking, decision-making, and communication skills.
