General Counsel
Lead Cari Network's legal function, oversee high-volume commercial contracting with regulated U.S. banks and service providers, coordinate cross-functional reviews, manage legal and regulatory risk, advise on payments and digital assets, and build contracting infrastructure and external counsel relationships.
Responsibilities
- Lead high-volume contract negotiations with regulated U.S. banks and third-party service providers.
- Coordinate contract reviews across risk and compliance, finance, product, and technology stakeholders.
- Support contracting needs across internal teams and standardize legal templates, playbooks, and processes.
- Identify, assess, and mitigate legal and regulatory risk.
- Advise on bank payments, tokenization, and digital assets.
- Build contracting infrastructure and external counsel relationships.
Requirements
- U.S.-based with ability to travel as needed.
- J.D. and active membership in good standing of at least one U.S. state bar.
- 10+ years of relevant legal experience.
- Experience negotiating commercial contracts with highly regulated U.S. banks or financial institutions.
- Experience leading high-volume contract negotiations and coordinating contract reviews across internal teams.
- Familiarity with crypto, blockchain, and digital asset technology.
- Understanding of regulations for bank payments and tokenization is a plus.
- Strong commercial, vendor, and technology contracting knowledge.
- Exceptional negotiation, drafting, communication, and stakeholder-management skills.
- Ability to work independently in a dynamic, fast-paced startup environment.
