General Manager - Colombia

Lead ARQ's regulated entity in Colombia as the accountable executive before local regulators and supervisory authorities. Drive licensing, build operational infrastructure, oversee governance and controls, manage operations, and own the local credit risk framework in coordination with global teams.

Responsibilities

• Own end-to-end operational management of the regulated entity, including AML, KYC, KYB, fraud, safeguarding, complaints, regulatory reporting, internal controls, customer support, and audit readiness.
• Ensure compliance with local laws, license conditions, and internal policies while maintaining risk management and control frameworks.
• Serve as the primary contact for supervisory authorities and lead regulatory inspections, implementation tables, and audits.
• Drive the regulatory approval process from constitution approval through go-live audit.
• Draft and operationalize local credit and risk policies and oversee credit decisioning.
• Coordinate with global legal, compliance, product, engineering, credit, and risk teams.
• Manage staffing, governance structures, operational processes, controls, and reporting cadence.
• Act as local signatory and board-level representative where required.

Requirements

• 7+ years of experience in a regulated financial institution, fintech, or financial services environment with exposure to licensing, operations, or risk management.
• Experience working within local regulatory frameworks and interacting directly with supervisory authorities.
• Ability to build risk, operations, and compliance frameworks, including credit policy and AML/KYC controls.
• Strong stakeholder management skills with regulators, external advisors, and internal legal and compliance teams.
• Exceptional organization, attention to detail, and due diligence mindset.
• Structured problem-solving and ability to navigate complex processes and ambiguity.
• High ownership and ability to drive outcomes across long regulatory timelines.
