GENERAL MANAGER (CONSTRUCTION)

Job Description

We are seeking an experienced and dynamic General Manager (Construction) to lead the overall management of our construction operations in Singapore. The successful candidate will be responsible for overseeing project execution, business development, operational performance, financial management, and compliance with local regulations while ensuring projects are delivered safely, on time, and within budget.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead and oversee the company's construction operations and project delivery.
• Develop and implement business strategies to achieve the company's growth objectives.
• Manage project planning, execution, budgeting, scheduling, and resource allocation.
• Ensure compliance with Singapore's construction regulations, safety standards, and statutory requirements.
• Build and maintain strong relationships with clients, consultants, subcontractors, suppliers, and government authorities.
• Monitor project performance and implement corrective actions where necessary.
• Oversee tender preparation, contract administration, and risk management.
• Lead, mentor, and develop project management and engineering teams.
• Prepare management reports and present operational performance to senior management.
• Promote a strong culture of workplace safety, quality, and continuous improvement.

Requirements

• Bachelor's Degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, or a related discipline.
• Minimum 10 years of relevant experience in the construction industry, including at least 5 years in a senior management position.
• Strong knowledge of Singapore construction practices, contract administration, and regulatory requirements.
• Proven experience managing large-scale infrastructure, foundation, or piling projects.
• Excellent leadership, communication, negotiation, and decision-making skills.
• Ability to manage multiple projects and lead cross-functional teams effectively.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office and project management software.
• Fluent in English; Mandarin is an advantage to liaise with Chinese-speaking stakeholders.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience in geotechnical engineering, foundation, or piling works.
• Familiarity with BCA, MOM, LTA, or major infrastructure projects in Singapore.
